Think BIG... Join BIG!

Now has never been a better time
to think and join... BIG!
Why should I join BIG?
That's the second most frequent question we get.
But it's a question only you can answer. BIG is not for everyone. It's
for people who believe in the possibility of change and are willing
to work for it. That's not always easy or risk-free.
But remember, as a government employee you are
called upon to provide the highest quality of public service. As a concerned
member of the African American community, you are challenged to exercise
leadership and civic responsibility. You need to be able to influence
the institutional forces that affect the workplace and your community.
BIG is one way to do this.
You should further read and browse our web site
and decide for yourself whether BIG is for you. If you agree with our
goals and feel you can benefit from our programs, you should make the
BIG commitment.
There are many reasons to join BIG.
Here are the top ten reasons why you should
join BIG!

Saying About BIG
To join BIG is really easy, just complete one
of our new/renewal membership applications (which are available at our
regular general membership meetings or just contact the Membership chairperson
below) and attach your dues of $35.00 for a one-year Regular
Membership. After your application is processed
by the National BIG Office you will receive your membership card through
your local chapter which shows your membership effective and expiration
dates. That's all there is to it! And you will be proud to be
a member of the chapter organization that is working to benefit African
Americans in the Library of Congress.
Renewing your Membership
Regular BIG Memberships are good for
a one-year period and are renewable on an annual basis (please note
the expiration date on your membership card.) Generally, within one
month of your expiration date you should receive a renewal notice and
application. When renewing your membership please complete the application
(it is important that we are able to update your membership information
in our records) and return the application along with the dues.
Life Memberships will automatically
receive a new membership card every new year which indicates an expiration
date for the end of that calendar year.
