What is BIG?

Why Blacks in Government (BIG)?
That's the first question many people ask. The best answer is to look
at it another way:
Why not BIG?
Blacks In Government (BIG) is a national grass roots organization that
promotes and supports the well-being, education, and professional development
of African Americans in the Federal, State, County and municipal sectors.
BIG is a national response to the need for African Americans in public
service to organize around issues of mutual concern and to use their
collective strength to confront workplace and community problems. BIG's
goals essentially are to promote Equity in all aspects of American
life, Excllence in public service, and Opportunity for
all Americans.
